Software Infrastructures and Embedded Systems

Leader : Jean-Luc Dekeyser

The Software Infrastructures and Embedded Systems research theme (ILSE for Infrastructures Logicielles et Systèmes Embarqués) is composed of five LIF teams that conduct their research activities in the domain of systems, networks and software engineering. The DART team research domains are high performance embedded systems, from hardware architectures to programing and modeling languages and dynamic adaptation at the system layers. The RD2P team conducts research activities on systems and networks for embedded, portable and secured systems. The ADAM, Cocoa and RMoD teams share the thematics of software engineering, ADAM focusing on adaptable middleware systems, Cocoa focusing on the structure and the reuse of models in the context of model driven engineering, and RMoD focusing on reengineering and evolution of object-oriented applications.

Interaction, Coopération, Images

Leader : Mohamed Daoudi

The Interaction, Cooperation and Images research theme (ICI) is composed of five LIFL teams. The Fox-Miire is working on human behavior extraction from video streams and on statistical analysis of 3D shapes. The Mint team is working on hum an-computer interfaces and more specifically on gestural interactions. The Shacra team focuses its research works on scientific deadlocks from the digital medicine and more specifically from medical simulation (like teaching surgical procedure with a computer simulation). the SMAC team is working in the artificial intelligence field and more precisely on the modeling on behaviors between virtual entities. The NOCE team is working on the methods, tools and infrastructures for working and learning collaborative activities.

Modèles, Algorithmes, Calcul

Leader : Rémi Gilleron

The theme is composed of several teams. The general objective is to study formal models and algorithms. The main activities are: computer algebra, computational models for biology, algorithms for structured data in biology, models and algorithms in machine learning, and optimization. There is also some work on parallel algorithms for grid and cloud computing. The main application areas are biology and commerce.
