Gaspard2 - Array-OL Tools - Gaspard Classic

The Gaspard2 tool

Gaspard2 is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for SoC visual co-modeling. It allows or will allow modeling, simulation, testing and code generation of SoC applications and hardware architectures.

The tool is based on Eclipse as an autonomous application. All you need is Java 5.0 to use Gaspard2. Just extract the file and go under the gaspard2 directory. Then, run the appropriate launcher, depending on your system (Linux, Windows, MacOS X).

Gaspard Profile for MagicDraw UML

The profile for modeling architecture and application for MagicDraw UML 12.5 and its documentation are available.

After unzipping the file, start MagicDraw and do the following:

Open a project or create a new one.
Choose File->Use Profile/Module in the menu to import it in your project.
In the Modules Path, add the directory containing the profile.
Now select the path, then select the corresponding file.
Click OK and the profile is loaded in the project tree.

One model example: a radar application (STAP, by Thales) associated onto an architecture with 8 PowerPCs.

Array-OL Tools

Three tools have been released around the Array-OL model of specification:

Previous versions

Version 0.2.0 is available for download. The current features are:

Modeling of application and architecture with a UML2.0 profile in TAU G2 (will support other UML2.0 modeling tools in the future).
Import of these models in an Eclipse plugin via model transformation to a specific metamodel using ModTransf.
Definition of the mapping of the application onto the architecture by an Eclipse GUI (will be changed in a future version to a UML profile).
Automatic SystemC UTF code generation and compilation.
Basic linear algebra library (linking to the BLAS).

Another previous version of Gaspard is still available under the name Gaspard Classic. This version was not based on modeling concepts but rather on visual programming techniques. It served as a test bench for some of the optimisation techniques used in Gaspard2.
