Curriculum Vitae

My name is François Boulier. I was born on August 6th 1965 in Alençon and I performed my academic training at the university Lille 1.

I defended a PhD thesis in computer algebra on June 27th 1994, under the direction of Gérard Jacob. The memoir is entitled Étude et implantation de quelques algorithmes en algèbre différentielle. Its main result is the first version of the Rosenfeld-Gröbner algorithm, which constitutes the first complete elimination algorithm for systems of polynomial differential equations.

I was a post-doctoral fellow of the Symbolic Computation Group at the university of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada), from September 1995 to August 1996. During this year, I developed the first version of the MAPLE diffalg package.

I became Maître de Conférences (Associate Professor) in computer science at the LIFL in 1996. I had a CNRS researcher position from 2000 to 2002. I defended my habilitation à diriger des recherches on May 4th 2006 and I became Full Professor in computer science at the LIFL (for my research activity) and at Polytech'Lille (for my teaching activity) in 2010. I am the Head of the computer algebra group since September 2011. I am in charge of the 5th year of the GIS cursus since 2012.
