Le prototype CromeJava est un outil de conception de systèmes d'information
complexe basé sur le modèle objet Crome dont l'aspect original est la prise
en compte dès la conception de l'organisation en fonctions du système
d'information. Ce prototype permet de concevoir un SI puis de générer du code
java pour un sgbd objet cible. Actuellement, deux sgbds cibles sont proposés,
celui de la société Poet Software(sgbd commercial), et le sgbd PSE/PSE Pro de Object Design(la version PSE est gratuite mais a un statut propriétaire).
La version téléchargeable fournit également le source, ce qui permet à qui le désire de réaliser un nouveau portage vers tout sgbd objet couplé à java.
